MIRACLE HOUSE KENYA JANUARY 2023 TRIP UPDATE #10

#10 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Praying for Children… healings and a creative miracle. Part 3

Morning house –

One girl has only one atrium and one ventricle, they are on the wrong side and backwards. Only one lung functions and the second one has only 50% capacity. She runs and plays although she tires easily and experiences shortness of breath.

I happened to sit down next to her, not knowing, who was who of the stories I’d heard before entering the house.  Doctors can’t believe she is alive and don’t have any idea how to help her.  I prayed for a creative miracle, trusting God for an outcome only he can do!!  God of miracles! We wait and believe.

#9 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – A Day at MH-Limuru

Limuru is the location that first opened in 2006 with 23 children.  Such memories there in the slum that first captured my heart, it was there too, when God spoke the WORD (2005) that changed my life!  We took the time to go through the area and point out the site of our first evangelistic drama, the first location we rented where we started Miracle House and places that held sweet memories.  I had a beautiful time with our children, interacting and in conversations.  They do much of the cooking now, as part of their contribution to their “Give Back” program.  This was designed to parallel community service hours

#8 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Praying for Children… healings and a creative miracle. Part 2

We walked to the second house –

I met an older girl, affected by CP, early 20’s, glowing with Jesus.  Her right arm – elbow and wrist completely bent, fingers curled under.  I sat on the floor with her, reached out to hold her hand. First, I held it bent, then pulled back my hands toward her fingers, she reached under with her other hand and partially straightened the fingers. I had my hands on each side of her hand and wrist. It was like her wrist melted and straightened. Fingers laid flatter, wrist continued to flatten or straighten. At this point I have

#7 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Praying for Children… healings and a creative miracle. Part 1

Same night… I was asked, and I said YES…

Just a note to say, our YES is powerful, we just don’t know what God has in mind…

As we walked to the building that housed three family groups of about 12-15 children various ages, I knew I was exhausted. I remember praying, Oh God, this is you… what do YOU want?   I had no plan or preparation.

I preface all the testimonies I’m about to share with the bold truth that the directors and staff have been praying for these children for months and years… have had multiple prophetic words about the healing that is coming!!

#6 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Machakos & Kajiado and Nyama Choma (again)

Upon our return from Mombasa that evening we drove directly to Machakos.  We arrived late, hungry and tired at an interesting hotel, can’t say I slept much, but not the worst I’ve experienced.

All worth it to have breakfast the next morning with “G” – this champion is attending a school of theology and counseling.  He is so delighted with his school, his experience, his ministry opportunities, all he is learning and more!  I have to say, he was so cute – I’ve never heard him talk so much.  One question and away he goes with story after story.  His English is so good, I’m so proud

#5 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Mombasa

Early morning flight to Mombasa, fabulous aerial view of Kilimanjaro!  My first trip to Mombasa, whoo-hoo.  Hopped in our rental car and headed to the ferry (I could write paragraphs about the ferry experience) to get across to the island of Mombasa and on to the south.  We were on our way to visit “B” who didn’t know we were coming.  She is in her second term at college, studying accounting.  She came out of the school gate to find us in the car waiting for her. She screamed and came running, serious tight hugs!  So fun, to take her and her friend to a restaurant for lunch.  We sat and chatted,

#4 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Nakuru to Limuru

As we traveled from Nakuru to Limuru we stopped on the way and met Millicent our Site-Coordinator from Limuru, on the side of the road.  Then we proceeded with her to visit Agnes at school, just beginning her first year there. It was fun to see her school and have time talking and sharing with her!

We left along with Millicent and proceeded to MH Limuru!

We enjoyed connecting with the students at the center in the afternoon. Organized quilts for the form four finishers. A handmade quilt, anointed and prayed over in Colorado is their gift as they finish high school. (Thank you Ms. Judy) Also gifts for the other children and

#3 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Back in Nakuru

I had opportunities to meet other missionaries in Nakuru, one couple I knew from years before and another was new to me.  We learned years ago the value of relationships and connections among those with like hearts.

Cultivate relationships wherever you go! True everywhere always.

We took a day and went to Nyahururu to visit a discipleship school and see a couple of small business opportunities that are being tested to be taught to discipleship students to enable them to have a productive way to serve their communities and create income. A great day of learning for our future – the “Greater Impact” ahead of MH.

We are still processing the finer details, but dreaming

#2 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Webuye

My time in Webuye was beautiful.  I’m always grateful for safe travel. I had time with the children, many of whom are young adults now.  I was delighted to see one of our girls who has grown beyond Miracle House. She is working in a medical clinic, now married, and has a two-year-old girl.  Later she brought her daughter to the MHCentre to meet me too.

We had a guardian meeting and really focused our time on teaching parenting skills. Sadly, much of the challenge our children are experiencing is repeated from what their parents have experienced. Generational abuse and trauma – doesn’t just go away.  We hadn’t planned to feed the guardians; the
