#5 MH Trip Update – January 2023 – Mombasa

Early morning flight to Mombasa, fabulous aerial view of Kilimanjaro!  My first trip to Mombasa, whoo-hoo.  Hopped in our rental car and headed to the ferry (I could write paragraphs about the ferry experience) to get across to the island of Mombasa and on to the south.  We were on our way to visit “B” who didn’t know we were coming.  She is in her second term at college, studying accounting.  She came out of the school gate to find us in the car waiting for her. She screamed and came running, serious tight hugs!  So fun, to take her and her friend to a restaurant for lunch.  We sat and chatted, catching up and dreaming forward into plans for her future and steps to get there.  Time to go, came too soon.  The following day we also surprised “S”.  He was to meet us at a strip mall near where he was staying with a cousin during school break.  Also, a beautiful surprise with the sweetest tender hugs. The one-on-one times with our children are the most precious.  So wonderful to find out what is going on behind the scenes of their hearts and lives. We are a family at Miracle House.  Please continue to pray for our children, and the bright future ahead of them.

Allan, our Country Director and David P, a new friend who is helping us process dreams and vision for the future, and I – spent travel time and other designated time discussing, formulating, pushing back, repeating, reviewing, restating… as we work to clearly communicate and define the dreams and vision going forward and the steps to get there.  By the way, we are still in process… God is unfolding incredible connections, ideas, solutions, and more…  Thankful for the patience of these two.

We visited Fort Jesus in Old Mombasa and ate a nice dinner overlooking the inlet.  Yes, I did get my feet in the Indian Ocean!  Oh, the gifts of God on the Journey… The Safari of Life with HIM!
