What Does Miracle House Do?

Our Vision is to help children grow in their FAITH and understanding of God’s deep LOVE for them. Declaring God has plans for their lives gives them a HOPE and a future. It has been a privilege to see this come to life. We Take care of basic needs like FOOD and CLOTHES. It might not seem like a big deal to some of us but to a needy or orphaned child it means the world.

We also help with schooling. A good EDUCATION means more opportunities. Miracle House has a incredible teaching staff that starts working with the kids as early as pre-school, giving the children the best start possible. Our older children, Classes 1-8, attend the national public schools. We pay for their school fees (tuition) in addition to their uniforms, books, school supplies, etc., and boarding as needed. Our secondary school students (or high school students), now numbering about 20, attend various boarding schools as is the custom in Kenya. These schools are out of reach financially for children who have been orphaned. We are so proud of our Miracle House students who are successfully navigating secondary school with dreams of going on to a university.

Just as the kids we serve keep growing, so does Miracle House! We now own 10 acres of the most beautiful farm land in the heart of Kenya. We call it Base Camp, a facility where children discover and experience FAMILY, faith, hope and love. We believe from here they will ascend to even greater heights as their future unfolds.

How It Began

It was no surprise that God spoke to the heart of Deanna Bjork, Miracle House founder, when she was in Kenya co-leading a mission trip with Beautiful Feet International. She had been in the slums of Limuru when she heard God’s voice “why not an orphanage here?” Knowing how special orphans are to God she began asking, “What steps do I take?” and “What should we call it?” So the journey of Miracle House began, one step at a time; renting a building, hiring teachers, finding the first 25 kids and the first 25 sponsors. Now Miracle House is ready for the biggest step yet! We are raising $2 million dollars to build Base Camp, a facility where hopes and dreams can now be realized.

What We Believe

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe there is one God eternally existent in three persons: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity of Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the resurrection of the saved to eternal life, and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God’s forgiveness in His Son.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. Miracle House is not affiliated with one specific denomination, and we work with many denominations. We, the founder and the leadership, are Christians! For this we make no excuse; and we give reason for the hope that is in us.
